According to the big bang theory, at some point in time, approximately fourteen billion years ago, the universe as we know it today came into being. British Physicist, Doctor Alan Hayward writes; “At the moment of creation, they (astronomers) suggested, all the matter and energy in the universe would have been concentrated in one spot. Then a sort of king-sized atomic explosion occurred, and everything blew apart with enormous violence and at fantastically high temperatures. As the expansion continued things gradually cooled down, until eventually galaxies and stars were able to form.”
He goes on to say that if the bang was too small the universe would have collapsed on itself in a few million years and the planets would not have been able to be formed. On the other hand, if the bang was too large the universe would be nothing but gas and the stars and planets would never have formed.
According to Genesis 1:1, In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Hebrews 11:3, informs us that the worlds were prepared by the Word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible. That is the doctrine of creation “ex nihilo” that teaches that God created the world and all there is from nothing; that means that there was no pre-existing material. The psalmist wrote, “Praise Him in the heights! Praise Him, all His angels; praise Him, all His hosts; praise Him, sun and moon; praise Him, all stars of light! Praise Him, highest heavens, and the waters that are above the heavens! Let them praise the name of the Lord, for He commanded and they were created (Psalm 148:3-5).” There was nothing before God began His creative work. All things came into existence by the Word of God (Psalm 33:6-9).
The Bible is in direct conflict with the big bang theory. The Bible teaches that nothing existed before God created the heavens and the earth. The Bible tells us in the first chapter of Genesis that God brought all things, living and non living into being in a moment of time. The Bible teaches that the heavens and the earth came into being by God’s creative activity not a process of evolution.
Dr. Hayward tells his readers that he does not believe in theistic evolution but his book title indicates that he believes in some form of evolution to assist creation. The big bang theory teaches evolution. It assumes that material is eternal. Dr. Hayward uses the term creation to describe the process of the big bang. The big bang theory is not creation, it is evolution. It theorizes that after the big bang a process of evolution brought about the planets and stars. The big bang theory teaches, based on pure supposition, tht gravity and time are also eternal.
The Bible, however, tells us that in the beginning God brought all things into existence. Based on the Bible and the written account of creation in the first two chapters of Genesis the conclusion is that the big bang theory is not a biblical account of creation.
